The text consists of daily meditations, and stream-of-consciousness responses, to the writings of the Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh (1926 - 2022), known as the “father of mindfulness.” Each scroll holds the words of the monk along with the artist’s own words. These are twisted and gathered into a sculptural tangle of long tendrils. The title of the work is derived from the title of the book at the core of this work: Your True Home: The Everyday Wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh. -Linda Ekstrom

Seven Stanzas on Your One True Home, Poem‍ ‍by Julie Dillemuth

I feel calm in its presence.
Severn ropes bundled at the top with wire,
a cascade of twisted tracing paper ten feet long,
inked with a flow of confident letters.

(the poem in its entirety available at the gallery)
